If you're looking for a list of up-and-coming social apps, trending audio, or new business tools that are gonna "blow your mind" then this isn't the article for you. What I'm about to share honestly has less to do with trends and more to do with the Lindy Effect. ๐ค
๐ Lindy Effect = a statistical tendency for things with longer pasts behind them to have longer futures ahead.
This is gonna be un-sexy but buckle up, here we go:
Think about the platforms where you likely put your marketing time this past year - Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Business, etc. Ready for the splash of cold water? They owe you nothing. You're just a guest. ๐ They could change the algorithm tomorrow [something they often do] to push your content to the bottom of the proverbial pile.
So do we stamp our feet and complain? No. We take a look at the Lindy Effect ๐ and change our behavior. There is a statistical tendency for things with longer pasts to have longer futures ahead.
So here it is in all its unsexy glory, the places where I believe business owners should put their best creative efforts in 2025:

- ๐ป Website SEO
- ๐ง Long form content - blogs, podcasts (i.e. "new radio")
