put your investment to work.

Your photos are ready! Now what?

Branding photos are pretty with a purpose. These images will have serious ROI when utilized to their fullest potential. It can be overwhelming to know where to start, which is why my work doesn't end until your amazing images get out there in the world!

Here is a step by step process for what's next. If at any point you want a listening ear and a coach who can help you through this process, do not hesitate to book a FREE strategy call! My goal is for you to get a whole lotta mileage out of the hard work we put into your branding photoshoot.

If you want to get started ASAP, here's a road map for putting your images to work:

1. Keep it organized

Download all of your photos to your primary machine's hard drive and back up to the cloud (Google Drive, iCloud, Dropbox). I like to create a folder for easy access when batching my marketing work - for example, "2024 Q2 Branding Images."

2. Update your socials

Start with the no-brainers like LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook. Headshots and profile pics on these sites can be updated as often as 4x/year to keep your pages looking fresh. Next consider other social sites such as Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, etc. These should be updated at least annually.

3. Freshen up your website

A mini-makeover can go a long way in connecting with your audience. Swap out some photos (remember to update alt text for SEO), update your about page, and even write a blog post about your experience doing a branding photoshoot for your business. Content inspiration is everywhere!

4. Let people get to know you

You are your brand! Add your headshot to your business card, email signature, thank-you cards, and other places where people can start to associate your face with your business.

5. Use them for marketing

Facebook

Instagram (don't forget pinned posts!)

Pinterest

Podcasts

Blogs

Web. ads

Print items (business card, brochure, flyers, postcards)

Email campagns

6. Use them for eye-catching cover photos

IGTV

Reels

TikTok

YouTube

Bonus copywriting tip:

When writing copy to accompany your images, always start with the question, "What does my ideal client need?" Ultimately when you answer that question in post after post or blog after blog, you're holding a person's hand and taking them one step closer to working with you! Use AI (like Chat GPT) as a tool if you need a starting place or reach out if you prefer a more human touch. I have a background in writing for non-profits and commercial companies and take on a *very* limited number of copywriting clients per year.

Social media post ideas

Sometimes you just need a starting place for the inspiration to flow! Here are a few ideas for posts to go with your new photos:

  1. Show your face! Hop on a trend like #fridayintroductions and reintroduce yourself to your followers.
  2. Share 5 things someone might not know about you.
  3. Share 2 truths and a lie.
  4. Share a fun fact about yourself.
  5. Use your own language (like you're talking to a friend - no need to use proper English and grammar if it cramps your style!) and tell a story your followers may relate to.
  6. Share about your why or mission. Why do you do what you do?
  7. Talk about your client or customer experience. How are you different?
  8. Share something not related to biz, but that makes you happy.
  9. Share your philosophy behind what you do. Maybe you are a photographer who believes no headshot should be boring, or a nail artist who preaches expressing yourself through nail art. Talk about why!
  10. Educate your followers! It's normal to feel protective of "giving away" your "secrets" but I promise, the more you give away, the more people will see you as an expert.
  11. Share something inspiring or motivating, like a meme of GIF. You don't need to create this yourself - it's fine to share someone else's work as long as you give plenty of credit/tag!
  12. Share a testimonial from a past client who raves about you. No testimonials yet? Just ask! People are often excited to help us out with reviews, but they need to be asked first.
  13. Have you been honored with an award or accolade? Don't be modest! Share about how fabulous you are, and why someone would be lucky to work with you.

Oh yeah, One more thing

Thank you again for entrusting me with the task of visually communicating who you are and what you do. You are amazing and it is truly an honor to have a front row seat to you killing it in your business. Keep up the confidence, show your face, and let other people see the passion you bring to your work (I promise they'll be as awe-struck as I am). Do not hesitate to reach out if there is any way I can serve you as you utilize your images for your business!
