Thinking about joining Rebrand?

Now on to the interview
MADDIE: Thank you so much for being here today.
LAURA: Absolutely. It's such an honor.
MADDIE: I'm so thrilled to chat with you. So to start us off, go ahead and tell everyone who you are and what you do.
LAURA: Definitely. My name is Laura Pulliam and I am a brand photographer and portrait photographer in the North Houston area. I have been a photographer for 15 plus years but about two and a half years ago, I started my business officially, and it's just been such a fun experience, such a blast. I have another career as well but photography feeds my creativity. So here we are.
…
MADDIE: How did you end up joining Rebrand? Who should join Rebrand? If people are listening and they're considering it. Who should join?
LAURA: Definitely. I'm going to get the dates wrong, but last fall I had actually signed up for the Jumpstart. Like last fall and apparently I just ghosted like I didn't even go, life was very very crazy. I had a daughter who was in the NICU for a long time. It just was not the right time I had no margin. I had no creativity in my life, so I looked back on my calendar and there it was but I didn't attend and so at some point this must have been muddling around in my head because come January of this year, I had my daughter's speech therapist actually reach out to me and say, “Hey, I know you're a photographer. I need to launch a new website. Could you do my work? I feel like I could trust you. We connected and I'm nervous in front of the camera.” And so that's when I'm sure I started searching on Instagram, like ‘brand photography tips’ (like I probably didn't even know to call it brand photography at the time). But I'm sure that's where I ran across you again. I signed up for the Jumpstart again, and you'll have to remind me when the one earlier this year was, was it like January, February? It was very early. So much of what makes brand photography different from portrait photography is you get to help a business owner hone in on who they are, what they're about, and then translate that into beautiful photos that they use. And that's just, if that seems exciting to you, You owe it to yourself to figure out if this is where you're supposed to be. So it's, it's absolutely something that I've enjoyed. I’ve absolutely gotten more than my money’s worth. And I'm not just talking like, “Oh, I booked some clients. I made it back.” But I mean, the value of what Maddie is offering is phenomenal. Everything in the Vault, all the swipe files, just stuff that you can literally repurpose for your own use. Like she's just saying, here, it's a gift. Take it! I love the community that is in Slack. It's just amazing any day of the week, any time of the day, be able to post a question and know someone's going to respond to you. Maddie's going to respond to you. I've made some really cool friends who are also here in the Houston area. In fact, we have a brand photo shoot tomorrow that I'm super excited about. It's been a lot of fun and valuable, so I would say if you feel like you are maybe itching for something a little bit more strategic than portrait photography, like it's worth, it's worth a try to see if this is where you're supposed to be.
MADDIE: Awesome. Thank you so much. Thank you for your kindness, your kind words today, and just for being here. It was so fun to talk with you.
LAURA: Absolutely, such an honor to be on the show and I'm excited about the next month in Rebrand and then everything that happens after that.
MADDIE: Thank you so much, Laura.
