tips for selecting a location

When it comes to selecting a location for your session, here are a few questions that can help you make the right decision for you/your family:

the look

What look am I going for? Casual and fun? Bright and cheerful? Glamorous and striking? The location can help tell the story! Photography is “painting with light”; if there is an image in my portfolio that is particularly striking to you, be sure to send it my way so we can additionally select the right time of day to achieve your desired look.

your personal style

Where would I be most comfortable? Do I love the great outdoors? Or the bustle of the urban center? Or the polished look of a studio set? Do I want to capture this milestone in the comfort of our home? How important is AC? What will I be wearing? <-- Sometimes answering this question can help you make your decision!

communication

My desire as your photographer is to help you capture the perfect print-worthy portraits. The more I know about your goals for your session, the better! After you choose a location, I will select a time of day that provides the most flattering light in that location. Feel free to reach out with any questions as you make your decision.
